Long-time weekend anchor and now communications consultant, Tim McNiff talks about his boomerang career and how he has repackaged himself and his experience to adapt to the marketplace. From KARE to corporate and back, his career choices often centered around his family, from prioritizing time with them to providing in a way that allowed his daughter to attend her dream college. Throughout his media career, including two decades with one organization, he stayed tuned into sports, maintained relationships and committed to learning, all with a focus on how the industry and world were changing.
About Tim:
A Native Minnesotan, Tim turned an internship at KARE-11 into a career in news and sports broadcasting that spanned more than 25-years. After attending college at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, and in Minneapolis, Tim became an Emmy Award winning anchor/reporter in Wisconsin, Texas, and Minnesota.
Tim left KARE-11 TV in 2014 to take a position in public relations and marketing, before returning to KARE in 2017. A career anchor/reporter, Tim has expanded his skill set to include long-form story-telling on multiple platforms, while seeking to help people and businesses operate and communicate more effectively.
